Here's what I wore during the 2nd elimination round (apparently, my last) of Designlab 7. I didn't want to match my outfit with my design for the competition (read more about it here) so I went with my default cropped top and high-waisted shorts combo. It works every time for me. :)
If you're into cropped tops but are not comfortable with exposing your midsection area, pair them with high-waisted shorts. You get enough coverage at the same time, you get to show off the shorts.
A plain top with printed bottoms is pretty basic. By doing so, your main focus is the print but you can also have a print on print thing if you want to be adventurous. It's a big trend anyway.
I topped it off with gold jewelry with pops of bright colors which I think went really went with the print and color of the shorts. To complete the outfit, I wore my nude caged heels which not only added height but also elongated my legs as well.

I love this top because of the element of surprise. Up front, it seems like the usual cropped top but at the back, it has these cutouts which look like ribs. As you might have noticed, I've been loving some back drama lately. :) Also, I like how the edginess of the top balances the girliness of the shorts.
