I attended the PhFW Day 2 with my blogger friends at the SMX Convention Center Mall of Asia. It was such an amazing experience for me although I wasn't able to attend all shows because of conflict in my schedules. Boo. I really wanted to watch all of them if only I could. I also met awesome people whom I hope to see again someday. Next season probably? :)
I'll be doing a series of posts featuring the different designers. First up is Dax Bayani.
Dax Bayani is a consistent Dean’s lister when he was still studying taking up Fashion Design and Merchandising at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. Now, he is currently busy receiving clients and at the same time teaching Fashion Design at his alma mater.
He was also named as one of Preview Magazine’s designer to watch of 2008.
Fashion has always been a natural inclination for designer Dax Bayani, with his family running a garment manufacturing and exporting company since he was a child. Having spent his childhood waking up to the sounds of sewing machines and the smell of freshly cut fabrics everyday, Dax has had quite an easy time learning the process of assembling and making clothes, sketching, and reinterpreting designs. As soon as he finished fashion design in college, Dax began launching his distinctly architectural and structured pieces onto the runway.
Dax currently works as a professor at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Fashion design and Merchandising program and at the same time accepting clients for his custom-made line

Presented by SONY. Dax Bayani was one of the featured designers.
Spot Andre and Daryl Chang! See the blondes in the front row? :)
His collection is entitled "Palenquera".
Swimwear with sleeves? Yes, please!
I love the vibrant prints and colors! The turbans are also nice touches.
I really like the flowy fabric. It's the perfect beach cover-up.
Printed swimwear for the boys? Also a yes!
Take care everyone!
